An old favorite might be returning to the Battlefield Franchise.
In a recent Datamine by a data miner, they revealed that there are new maps in the works for Battlefield 2042 called Drained, Lightsout, and Docklands.
In the next map pack, Drained, there are hints of a map being entirely drained of water as last seen in concept art for Battlefield 2042, showing soldiers running across a dried-up river bed. But Lightsout appears to be suggesting that it would be set in an enclosed area like a prison or hospital.
Now, Battlefield has done a prison area back in Battlefield 4 called Operation Locker and could potentially be a revisit to this fan-favorite map. Operation Locker had two teams at either end of the Prison Complex run down the middle to a Tower that was fully destructible or you could try your luck running along the perimeter in the sheer cold, whilst dodging sniper bullets from happy campers.
And the final map, Docklands, could be a reimagining of Port Valdez from Battlefield Bad Company 2 OR Panama Canal which also comes from Bad Company 2. Either way, DICE sure love their past titles as much as fans do.
But what do you think?
Could revitalizing old maps save Battlefield 2042 from being one of the worst entries in the franchise?
