How many of these 5 Things did you notice from the recent Teaser Trailer for Thor 4: Love and Thunder?
#5 Thor has Lost Weight
When last saw Thor in Avengers: End Game, he had, well let’s just say, had one too many beers and not enough salads in his diet. So much so, that even his mother told him to eat a salad once in a while. Well, it looks like Thor has taken the advice on board and is working on his fitness to restore his muscle-defined look. (Plus, let’s face it, Chris Hemsworth looks far better in his prime than he does wearing a fat suit).
#4 Young Thor is wearing his original helmet from the Comics!
In the opening minutes of the trailer, you can see a child version of Thor running and then becoming a Teenage Version of Thor. But what you may have not noticed is that the Teenage Version of Thor is wearing the original helmet as seen in Thor’s First Appearance in the Comics, Journey into Mystery #83 which was first published in August 1962.
#3 Thor Doesn’t Like To Fight & New Asgard has Flying Ships
One thing you may have not noticed is that whilst Thor is on a journey to truly discover who he is, New Asgard seems to be doing fine without him. King Valkyrie (yes that is her official title, we didn’t get this wrong. Seriously, look it up), seems to be rebuilding Asgard quite nicely on Earth (or as they Asgardians call it, Midgard). But with their new home, will they bring too much attention to themselves or will somebody step in to stop them from growing too fastly?
Also, it’s interesting to note that Thor has no interest in fighting anymore as seen in the trailer where he plants Stormbreaker into the ground and simply walks away from the battle as the Guardians of the Galaxy run into battle. Perhaps Thor has had enough of the fighting after all these years?
#2 There ARE Other Gods Coming to the MCU
In a blink and you’ll miss it in a moment, you may have noticed that Thor is using his Bifrost powers built into his trusty axe, the Stormbreaker, to travel across the universe (or even perhaps different realms?). But if you look carefully, you may have noticed a bearded character holding a Lightning Bolt. This is none other than the Greek God himself, Zeus!
Zeus first appeared in Marvel Comics in issue #5 of Venus in June 1949 and was created by Jack Kirby & Stan Lee. There is no secret but Russell Crowe will be portraying Zeus in Thor 4: Love & Thunder.
#1 Jane Foster Has Taken Up the Mantle of Thor
In the last few seconds of the trailer, you may have noticed that a woman is wearing Thor’s Helmet and is wielding a reassembled Mjolnir after it was previously destroyed by Hela in Thor: Ragnarok. In case you were wondering, yes, it’s that version of Mjolnir, not the one from Avengers: Endgame as that one had to be put back, alongside all of the Infinity Stones, by Steve Rogers to maintain the timeline. The woman in question though is none other than Jane Foster, an old flame and love interest of Thor’s. We can only imagine what Thor might say when he works it out…
